CHAiN (2015):
Conrad Molleson was commissioned by Distil to compose a piece of music for McFalls Chamber. Conrad used the opportunity to explore an episode in the life of Kirkpatrick Macmillan, a fiddle playing blacksmith from Dumfries-shire who is arguably the inventor of the world’s first bicycle. Conrad wrote the music, a narration of the story and drafted images for an accompanying animation. The piece was performed at the Tolbooth in Stirling with McFalls Chamber featuring Dave Francis narrating.
Following the success of the event, HODA intend to develop CHAiN into a touring interactive exhibition piece celebrating Scotland’s role in the development and innovation of the bicycle and its significance as a mode of recreation and transport.
